1 year.

what?!?!?

i am in serious denial about our little princess turning 1! it’s funny because i remember being really excited about evan turning 1 but i guess it’s because she’s the baby and that means she’s really growing up {and quickly!!}. 

height: 31 inches
weight: 35.2 lbs

avery is:

• trying to talk a little more. she’s got “dadadada” and “dank do” down pretty well and seems to use them when appropriate. she’ll also say “hi” if you ask her to.
• very proud of herself when she does things like stand up, says “hi”, makes a mess, etc and gives you a cheese ball smile to show you she is proud:)
• standing up by herself! she will take a step or two and then will fall down but for the most part, she doesn’t really care to walk.
• learning what to do when the camera comes out :) she squints her eyes and gets this ridiculous, cheesy smile. it cracks me up!!
• suffering through her first ear infection {which was a double} which has not been good for sleeping :(
• /was sleeping soooo well! until the ear infection. she started taking a paci a couple of months ago because of her teeth and it has definitely become her way of self-soothing at night to put herself back to sleep. here’s hoping that once we kick the ear infections, our little girl will go back to her sleeping ways!
• eating like a champ!! the kid LOVES her food!! we don’t do anything special for her anymore and she is actually less picky than her brother is {he’s in the middle of his 2 year old ornery stage:)}
• STILL in a crazy “mama’s girl” stage. while i love, love snuggling my little sweetie and love how much she wants to be around me, it’s hard when i need to run out of the room for a second and it causes a complete meltdown complete with avery throwing herself on the floor.
• enamored by her brother. she wants to do what he’s doing all the time! no one can get her to laugh quite like her brother can either. there are times that they will just look at each other and laugh back and forth! melts.my.heart!
• also a daddy’s girl! her face lights up when he walks in the room. i <3 seeing her and her daddy snuggling during nap or before bed!
• stubborn! i can’t imagine where on earth she might have gotten that from :)
• a stinker! i could tell evan “no” and he would stop whatever he was doing, even if only for a few seconds. if you tell avery “no”, she looks at you, laughs, and keeps doing what she’s doing. T R O U B L E!! we’ll have to start working on this but for now, she seems to be getting away with it because of cuteness.

there is so much more that we watch every day but i can’t think of right now. avery jo is such a sweet baby & we love, love her to death!! we can’t wait to see what the next year will bring and look forward to seeing her and evan’s relationship grow in the next year :)
