today my little man turned 3. i’m not even sure how that’s possible but we are loving every minute. he has truly become such a little man in the last year. it is amazing to watch him formulate his thoughts and then verbalize them. we are always laughing when he is around and love how sweet he is. he will randomly tell brian and I that he loves us and will always tell me “mommy, you’re so pretty” when I wear a skirt. he also loves to tell avery that she is pretty. “I’m so happy” is also one of his favorites and it melts our hearts. to say we are in love is a huge understatement!
evan ray, you are the sweetest, most handsome, smartest, best big brother and son a mommy and daddy could ask for. we love you more than you could ever imagine and can’t wait to see your personality shine even more. we pray that you continue to be our sweet, smart, amazing baby boy! we love you and are so lucky to be your mommy & daddy!
now for your big day. daddy had to work but we both got you out of bed this morning {yes, still a crib 
today ended up being a somewhat mellow day because you started complaining about your ear hurting. after you mentioning it a few times, I decided to call and get you a doc appointment. it wasn’t until this afternoon but I could tell you weren’t 100% so we took it pretty easy. we watched some more cartoons, played a few ipad games, and played with our toys all over the house.
you managed to stay in your pajamas until after your nap – not too shabby if you ask me!! we ate snack and then headed to the doc where we found out you had fluid in your ear and it was bulging out in the weak spot left when your tube fell out. avery also had an ear infection so I guess it was a doc visit well worth it. we headed home where daddy & I gave you your birthday presents. I love the fact that you were just as excited about the book that we got you as you were about the bike. we were nervous about the bike because you have refused to pedal but you jumped right on and did a great job of pedaling!
after some bike riding, we headed to chick-fil-a for dinner. you told me that’s what you wanted and since it’s your birthday, that’s what we did! cc and aunt ashley met us there and brought cupcakes with candles! you were soooo excited and did such a great job blowing out the candles! we had a little mini birthday party there complete with a present and you even got to play on the playground before and after dinner – big time bonus!!
yes, chickadee likes to try to eat wipes…weird!
