the title says it all. we have been super busy but for whatever reason, i haven’t gotten the camera out to take any pics. i take the camera with us but seem to forget to take the extra step and actually snap a few pics :)
last thursday, avery got her first tooth. she had been a little cranky and had shown signs of teething but we weren’t holding our breath since evan took so long to get his teeth. she was gnawing on my finger when i thought i felt something. by thursday afternoon, it was fairly obvious and i was able to sneak a look at it. there are no pictures because i just don’t think she is as excited about showing off her tooth as i am :)
last friday, evan was fairly cranky all morning. i just figured he hadn’t gotten enough sleep/he’s a 2 year old…haha!! just before naptime, he came running up to me holding his left ear {the one that no longer has a tube in it} and told me his “ear hurt mommy” “ear hurt mommy". it was a friday so after giving him some ibuprofen and putting him down for his nap, i got him a dr’s appt. the good news was that it wasn’t an inner ear infection but it was an outer ear infection which meant he can’t swim for a week. poor kid!! it was july 4 weekend which meant lots of pool time. nevermind the fact that he takes swim lessons twice a week! this friday, he will officially be allowed back in the pool! i was so impressed he told me what was wrong. it makes things so much easier! oh, and according to the dr’s office, he’s officially 3 feet tall!! wow!!
saturday morning, bri and i woke up and randomly decided to head to the zoo. it was blazing hot but we figured if we got there early, we could alternate between outside and inside exhibits. e was super excited to see the “elphants” and the “baby elphant” so we made sure that was one of our first stops. avery was even into looking at some of the animals. i think her favourite were the apes. nanny & vanpa met us there in time to visit the aquarium for a little cool down. we also saw the sea lions being fed, the giraffes, lions, monkeys, and just about every animal there. daddy & vanpa took e to the petting zoo where he apparently wanted to pet and brush every goat there! crazy kid! after all of this, we ate lunch and then headed home with two VERY tired little munchkins!
saturday afternoon, we hung out at home and had cc over for play and dinner! our already pooped out kids got even more tired playing with cc all evening!
sunday, after church, we headed to red river for lunch. evan finished before avery so brian took him outside to the sandbox. to say he loved it would be an understatement! he was absolutely devastated when we had to leave! poor baby!! avery and i headed up to help nanny & vanpa pick out new furniture right after lunch and the boys had a boys afternoon. from what i hear, they both had a blast!!!
monday, brian had to work mission control so my parents headed down at lunchtime to hang out with me and the munchkins! we did a whole lot of nothing and it was nice :) when brian got home, we had steak and veggies, my parents headed home, and we bathed the kiddos and got them in bed. there were no fireworks for us except for on tv although we did catch a glimpse of the kemah ones when we went outside to watch the ISS fly over {the things you have to do as a nasa wife:)}.
this week has just been a lot of playing at home and then going outside in the evening when daddy gets home.
some fun things we want to remember…
- evan now says “no do dat” if he doesn’t want you to do something. the dogs get this a lot! “ry ry no do dat!”
- avery is sitting up like a pro but we still put the boppy behind her just in case.
- evan is constantly putting together sentences that amaze us!
- avery is super ticklish and laughs so hard when you tickle her on her arms, legs, belly, or neck.
