week 2.

week 2 brought with it more hanging out at home, newborn pics, visits from family, first true sponge bath, a dr checkup {which i’ve already blogged about}, new years eve, and daddy going back to work…

avery is growing like a weed…i wish i had a scale to see exactly what she is weighing these days. 

evan is adjusting so well and is constantly trying to help with his “sista".”

when avery first came home, she flat out refused to sleep in her pack n play in our room.  she would sleep like an angel in her newborn boppy pillow in our bed though.  we did that for a few days before deciding to swaddle her really tightly and trying the pack n play again.  evan hated being swaddled when he was little so he would wake himself up when he threw his arms up because of a reflex in newborns.  when we finally swaddled him, he slept great {except for waking up all the time to eat!}.  fast forward to avery and swaddling her has done the trick.  she now sleeps great in her pack n play except for waking to eat {which she usually does every 2.5 to 4 hours}. 

speaking of eating, i am mainly pumping and using bottles.  little miss is a LAZY nurser {i only thought her brother was bad :)}.  if i were to nurse her, i would probably only have about 15 minutes between feedings and she would sleep ALL the time!! 

avery lost her umbilical cord on her 2 week birthday so we gave her a big girl bath in the tub.  she did great but since we were bathing 2, we didn’t get any pics :(
