even though our kids started “school” quite early due to me working at the time, this was avery’s first day of pre-school and with that comes some uncertainty. we knew evan would be amazing as always! this kid loves him some school & generally gives me a look once he’s in his classroom that means something like “why are you still in here? you can go now!”
avery is another story. she has had a mommy complex since she was a few months old and only recently has it gone away. we had a few things going for us though. her classroom is also her sunday school room – different teachers but she has been doing fairly well during drop off at sunday school. she has also wanted to go to brother’s school since we started dropping him off last year so to say she was excited was an understatement. still….you just never know!
turns out there was absolutely NOTHING to worry about! both kids met their teachers and saw their classrooms last friday during “meet the teacher.” we dropped miss avery off first and she walked straight in without looking back! so much for worrying about her! evan is in class with some of his friends from last year which makes it fun for him! he walked right in, put up his lunch box & backpack, sat down and started playing! makes it easy for mommy!! after a quick kiss, I was out the door with 4 hours of time to myself! weird!!
I did peek back in avery’s room and she was staring down a little boy who was crying and had a death grip on his mom. her face basically was saying “what’s your problem?!?!?” hilarious!!!

overall, a very successful first day! they had a blast!!
