we decided to head to the river this year even though we really didn’t think the munchkins could handle a full river float. we figured they would have a blast playing with all of the other kiddos and we would enjoy hanging out with the river crew. we were right about the last two but couldn’t have been more wrong about the first. the bambinos LOVED floating and were mad when we had to get out of the river!
on the road…
first stop – lunch at pat’s place…
while everyone went on the first float, we took the kiddos down to the baby pool to get them re-acclimated to the river. between looking for rocks, seashells, walking up the river & floating back down, and climbing on the rocks, the kiddos had a great time but e kept asking to float soooo…when everyone came by, I sent brian with the kiddos to finish off the float…
evan even got to drive the police boat!!
brian, evan, & avery joining in the float…
then we showered up for another trip to pat’s for dinner…
the next morning, after our traditional morning trip to naegalin’s bakery, storm clouds were threatening. we decided to take a short float and see what the weather decided to do. this worked out perfectly as a practice round for our two…
waiting to go on the first float…
loving her own tube!
the kiddos quickly figured out that they could stand in their tubes, jump out, climb back in, repeat – fun!! so they did it over and over and over again!
evan…
avery…
between floats, we played on the playground…
then sister & I took a nap while the boys went for a second float…
aunt ashley was in charge of the camera this float & unfortunately discovered that our camera doesn’t float some nice guys came along with goggles and were able to find the camera! thank goodness for nice people on the river {& a waterproof camera }! we’re working on it’s floating ability!
e & the other avery post-float…
this morning, after our bakery trip, we decided to take the kids on the whole float and they did GREAT!! they even went through the chute for the first time {avery & I fell out of our tube}!
the kids did discover the could turn their tubes upside down and have a better jumping off point guess we have something to look forward to next year!
the traditional kid picture with the next generation {wish we could’ve gotten the kiddos next door as well}…
we left after the first float on tuesday and all swore they would sleep the entire way to nanny & vanpa’s but miss aj only assumed this pose the last 10 minutes of the journey! crazy!!!
we had a blast and can’t wait to float the whole week next year!!!!
