we spent a 3 day weekend at lost pines with uncle james, nanny, and vanpa before james’ deployment and had a blast!! we had been before but avery was 8 months old last time so she was able to truly enjoy it this time. as they get older, there is only more for them to do. we will definitely be making this a recurring trip for us!
the night we got there, we got in our swimsuits and spent the whole evening at the pool – can’t beat it! when it was getting close to bedtime, we headed over for s’mores and then got the kids in their jammies and watched a small part of the movie on the lawn…
the next morning, we were up before the gilbert crew so we headed out for a walk to the river…
the cheeseballs…
after our walk, we hit up the wagon ride…
after a quick lunch {and finally meeting up with the sleepy heads}, miss avery went down for a nap while e, nanny, and I went for a hike…
this hiking stuff is hard work!
after an afternoon at the pool, we cleaned up and went to dinner. after dinner, we hung out around the resort until it was s’more & movie time.
these kids love some rock rocks…
the next morning, we were the early risers again so we headed out to look for more adventures we happened to find a rather large cow that miss thing was all about riding while her brother wanted no part of it!
and then we headed to candy jewelry making {between the kiddos and the hubby, we may have eaten more candy than we put on the elastic but whatever}…
and then it was back to the pool for us for the rest of the day. cc & aunt ashley had been in austin checking out a wedding band so they stopped by to hang out and pick up daddy. unfortunately, I didn’t take my camera to the pool so I have no pics but we had a great time and even got to all have dinner together!
monday was our last day and we took it a little slowly. I took the kiddos down to the buffet for breakfast {free for kids under 5!!} and then nanny & vanpa took them to the pool while I packed up our stuff. I did manage to take my camera to the pool this time around and got some fun pics of the kiddos having a blast!
we had to keep an eye on little man. we let him go by himself on the slide on the first day but he didn’t understand the “no cutting” rule so we had to have a little talk and then had to watch to make sure he wasn’t ducking under everyone’s arms…
”c’mon sister”
”wait, I think mama has a camera”
”cheeeeeese”
”sister, I said c’mon!”
”but she’s still taking pictures…”
”oh, ok…let’s go…”
melt. my. heart.
we had an amazing time and can’t wait to go back again but more than that, we can’t wait until uncle james is back from deployment to have fun with!
