avery’s birthday 12.20.2010.

the story {if you don’t want details, skip to the pics:)}…

i was scheduled for induction on the 20th and was told to call between 5:#0 and 6:00 am to see when i should come in.  i called at 5:30 and was told that they were hoping to get me in soon but that they weren’t ready for me yet and to call back if i hadn’t heard anything by 9am.  30 minutes later, my phone rang and they asked how long it would take me to get there.  we got around, called cindy to come and watch e and take him to daycare, and then headed to the hospital.  we got there around 715 and we were on our way.  i had 2 nurses assigned to me – ronda & klarissa – because ronda had just transferred to woman’s from another hospital.  they called slr {my doctor} to get their orders and were told to start my pitocin VERY slowly.  she was at one of her satellite offices for the morning and didn’t want me to progress as quickly as i did with evan.  we hung out all day just watching my contractions on the monitor and listening to avery’s heartbeat on the monitor.  i was made fun of because i didn’t feel any contractions when i was having them – i’m lucky!!  when i was dilated to about a 4, i went ahead and got the epidural because slr would be there soon and would increase the pitocin in order to get things really moving. when slr got to the hospital, she told the nurses that when i was ready, do one test push and then call her – no more!  good thing she said that because at 430, when i was complete, i did my test push, slr got there less than 5 minutes later, and i pushed once and was told to stop and just breathe because she was out!!  wow!!!  i guess having a 9,5 lb kid before makes it a little easier:)  they put her skin to skin with me and i got to hold her for about 10 minutes before they took her to weigh her – 6lb 14oz!!!!  she’s our teeny tiny baby!! they gave her back to me to nurse and she did great!  brian went out to the waiting room to get our mom’s and bring them back – i’m sure they had no idea it would be so quick!  my dad and brother had headed out to league city to get evan from daycare and bring him back but were able to meet the little girl once they got back to the hospital.  overall, it was another great delivery and we are so lucky to have had it this easy!

i was able to convince my doctor that i just needed to stay one night and avery’s pediatrician in the hospital said she was doing so well that she could go home after one night as well so we headed home tuesday night.  we just wanted to be home with evan and enjoy our time as a family without all the interruptions of a hospital :)

She is BEAUTIFUL!! Love her!! They were ALMOST birthday buddies. Close enough for us to have the same birthday and then have daughters born 3 days apart!
