i don’t mean that in a bratty way either! brian was lucky enough to win a lottery at work for tickets to watch the shuttle launch early monday morning. this is why my parents had e the rest of the weekend! his company is trying to get as many employees passes as they can because most haven’t seen one and it is what they do – put people in space! we headed to florida early sunday morning and spent the afternoon at downtown disney walking around, finding e a shirt, and eating. here is our amazing soup we had at wolfgang pucks…
we then checked into our hotel, went out and grabbed a small dinner, and went to sleep because we had to leave at 1am {ouch!} to meet our bus for the viewing. 20 minutes before the shuttle lifted off, the space station flew over and was visible to everyone which was super neat!! here is the launch…
amazing!!!
after the launch, we sat in traffic that truly resembled hurricane evacuation traffic . the trip to orlando, which usually takes around 45ish minutes, took us over 3 hours!!! crazy! but brian and i didn’t get to stop in orlando. we booked our flight back out of tampa because 1) there were no direct flights back to houston from orlando before 7 at night and 2) the flights from tampa were $80 a ticket cheaper. so we drove across florida with no sleep, got through security, caught our plane at 330, and were back in houston before 5 on monday. can you say craziness?!?!? luckily e slept amazingly well that night and we were just about back to normal on tuesday , just in time for work :)
a huge thank you to my parents for watching the little man!! i’m sure he was a hit at church on easter sunday :)
