long story, kinda short.
e had speech issues. we took him to be tested. turns out he failed the hearing test in his left ear. took him to ent for speech & hearing issues. I will update on speech issues soon but hearing was due to fluid in the ear. he failed another hearing test on the left ear in the ent’s office. dr. ashe wanted to try clearing the fluid with antibiotics. this did nothing. on to tubes.
little man was a CHAMP!! despite waking him up at an ungodly hour {had to be at the med center at 6}, he was cracking us up and in a great mood. he even told the nurses he was tired as he crawled into his bed in pre-op.
hanging out before surgery…
after picking out the bubble gum flavor for his laughing gas, sweet boy went right back with his crew singing spiderman among other things. when dr. ashe came to let us know all went well, he was laughing because apparently e had everyone in the OR singing spiderman with him as he went to sleep.
when we finally went back to recovery with him, he was STILL SLEEPING!!! lucky kid! he finally woke up after hearing brian and I talking next to his bed – and even then, it took a little while! once he was up, he was in a great mood and asking for breakfast {just like last time}. because we knew he handled everything fine last time, we took him downstairs and got him a few pancakes – that he polished off. on the way home, he wanted a cereal bar – and polished that off. buddy was hungry!!!
unlike last time, we got no nap out of him in the afternoon which made for a REALLY tired mommy & daddy! oh well! we couldn’t have asked for a more cooperative little guy & are praying that this fixes the hearing issues!
***SIDENOTE - while he didn’t nap that day, the next day, after his quiet time, he was sitting on my lap snuggling. I was stroking his face when I looked down and realized he was OUT!! poor little guy!
{apparently this was all very rough for rylea too}
