we put mister e down for quiet/nap time today…just like normal. he played with the toys in his room…just like normal. things got quiet in his room for a little while…a little strange. next thing we know, we hear what sounds like the monitor being moved and then a 3 year old voice {slightly muffled like his mouth is against the monitor…cause it was} saying “mommy, daddy, I need to go potty and then I want to play legos in the living room.”

apparently he was well aware of how the monitor works and just wanted to make sure we heard him. of course, brian immediately grabs the camera to try and catch him in the act! we weren’t quite fast enough but we made him reenact what he did. here you go…

wii.

we busted out the wii before christmas thinking that e might enjoy playing mario kart or one of the sports games. he enjoyed mario kart but couldn’t control his ride we switched to tennis and he was a little more successful {although it was more because he was flailing when we told him to rather than truly swinging}. he had so much fun and has asked to play many times since! here’s a little video evidence…

nanny had surgery yesterday to remove some ovarian cysts so I stayed in katy last night and part of today. this morning, the natives were restless so daddy took them to the park to play…

christmas day.

it’s become a bit of a tradition for the grandparents to spend the night at our house christmas eve so they can see what santa brought the munchkins. it makes for a full house but we love it and wouldn’t have it any other way! mr. e woke up earlier than aj. I was going to get him and bring him into our room until avery woke up but he climbed into bed with cc instead and watched some cartoons. about 10 minutes later, we heard avery stirring and nanny getting her out of bed so we sent evan in to get her and tell her that santa had been here! he was so excited to tell her and poor girl couldn’t move fast enough to get out to the living room!

they were a little unsure at first but after a little explaining, they quickly caught on to whose presents were whose and starting tearing through their pressies! miss aj would rip a piece, hand it to me, say “here you go mommy” and then go back and continue the process…over & over again until the present was unwrapped! it was pretty funny!

we had such an amazing christmas & are so blessed to have such amazing family!!
