2 years.

WOW!!! our little man is 2 years old!! i can’t believe we were blessed with such an amazing little guy! evan’s day started off just like a normal school day. he and his daddy got up and headed to school where they showered him with “happy birthdays” all day long!!! i took a cookie cake to his class for them to have during snack – i bet those parents love me!! this was also his last day of school until next school year. brian picked him up from school and headed home where evan opened his birthday pressies from us and his cards from england.

then we headed out for dinner with cc, aunt ashley, aunt barbie, and uncle mike. we went to freebirds and then followed that up with ice cream at marble slab! what a fun night!! evan loved being the center of attention and was really excited that there were bulldozers next door that he got to go and see!!!

what our little guy is up to at 2:

• wearing a size 5 diaper still or a 4T pullup
• speaking of pullups, he does a pretty good job of going to the potty as long as someone asks him if he needs to go. at daycare, they were asking every hour or hour and a half and he would usually go. mummy’s not nearly as good at remembering to ask but he’s still doing well with it. we aren’t potty training by any means but just getting him used to the idea. he always goes “tt potty” before he gets in the bath.
• starting to carry on conversations with you. brian will ask him what he did today and he will tell him.
• such a little parrot! you can basically get him to say anything…good or bad :)
• independent!
• very sweet towards his sister. he will go over and give her kisses without us asking him to. they also get into laughing fits together and it’s so sweet to see! i hope they are always close!!
• not terribly willing to share – especially with his sister – but we have been working on that while i’ve been home and he’s gotten better. his sister did knock down his butter tower at a restaurant the other day and he got quite a look on his face and, while shaking, screamed “noooooooo abry!!!!” at the top of his lungs. most of the adults at the table had to turn away from him because we were laughing so hard.
• is in repetitive mode big time!
• will try just about anything but is easily distracted at the table which makes for some frustrating meals.
• knows his colors and can sing the ABCs sort of.
• loves to read, play with cars, trains, and really just about anything. he gets great use out of all of his toys and will sit and play for hours!
• is obsessed with all things cars…good thing cars 2 is coming out soon!!
• is a pro at throwing a tantrum if he doesn’t get his way! he’s been pretty good at this for awhile little stinker!
• loves to be outside doing just about anything. too bad it’s so stinkin’ hot here in the summer!
• has been taking swim lessons for 4 months and is doing really well!!! he seems to love the water!
• is still taking a 2 hourish nap in the afternoon. mummy’s hoping to hold onto that for as long as possible :)
• is constantly amazing us with how much he is learning! the kid is such a sponge and makes us laugh all the time!!
