week 4.

on tuesday, daddy had a softball game so we headed out for a late night.  it was stinkin’ hot so evan ended up in nothing but his diaper.  poor baby!!   before the softball game, daddy & evan hung out…

wednesday, i hung out all day with evan – it was rough :)

when daddy got home from work, rylea & addie decided it was weim snuggle time on the couch.

on thursday, i braved the outlet mall in cy-fair with evan.  luckily i had some help – aunt ali was with us :)  evan did really well!  despite being pretty hot, he rode along in his baby bjorn and was content for most of the trip!

friday, daddy had the day off because of july 4th.  we were excited to have him home!  sara, josh, kaleb, & jason came to visit during the day and then we ran some errands.  we had a great day at home as a family…

july 4th, nanny & vanpa came to visit.  evan wore his patriotic  onesie for his first holiday.  he was adorable :)

sunday morning started with a bang – really a  blow out.  evan had a “small” accident when we got up in the morning and we ended up sticking him in the bathtub instead of trying to clean him with wipes.  what a fun start to the morning :)  that afternoon, evan went to the mall for the first time and then met his great-grandparents for the first time at cc & grumps’ house.  he can’t wait to go visit them again!

on evan’s 4 week birthday, brian had to work late so evan and i took a card to his daddy and put it in his truck to make him smile when he got off of work – i think he liked it ;)  my cousin, anna, also flew in from england.  my parents picked her up from the airport and she came down tues for the week.  you can read all about our escapades in week 5!! it will be super nice to have another set of hands around :)

week 3.

another busy week!!

evan lost his umbilical cord stump monday night – exactly 2 weeks old.  what a big boy!! 

tuesday morning, we had evan’s 2 week check-up.  everything was great.  he weighed 10lbs 13oz and was 22.5in long!!  this kid is a growing boy (which i already knew because i was having to feed him every 2 hours!!).  dr. abbott said he was so healthy, he didn’t need to see him again until his 2 month check-up!!!

after the appt, we headed home to eat – evan, not me :) and then headed up to daddy’s work.  tuesday was take your munchkin to work day at NASA and even though evan wasn’t officially enrolled in the activities, he definitely needed to take part!  we brought daddy lunch and ate in the cafeteria.  then we decided to take him up to brian’s desk to feed him so that i could take him to target without fear of fussing.  that idea backfired.  brian was feeding him when he got really bad gas.  so bad, he completely blew out his diaper all over his daddy’s dress pants right before his meeting – oops!! :)  after cleaning him up, evan and i headed out to target (without him getting a chance to finish eating).  i had gotten almost everything on my list when he started throwing a fit!! luckily i still had the bottle from earlier so i stood in the aisle at target and fed him – what a trip!!!!

that night, we went to daddy’s softball game where evan snuggled with mrs. laura all evening.  he had a blast!!!

wednesday, evan hung out at home with me.  we couldn’t wait for daddy to get home!!!  cc & grumps also came to see evan before they headed to san antonio for the weekend.

thursday, we ventured into the world of a “real” bath.  we did it in the kitchen sink but will be giving future baths in the bathtub.  the poor munchkin just didn’t enjoy being so cold!

i had a hair appt on thursday morning and brian had to work late so he stayed home with evan in the morning while i got my hair done.  it was the first time i had left him since he was born.  i was sad but it was also nice to have a little time to myself.

friday was another day at home although brian came home early so we had a fun afternoon/evening as a family!

saturday, we had a lazy morning (after a 6am feeding, we got the little man to sleep until 10:)) and then had some visitors from katy.  after they headed home, we ran to best buy to look around.  evan did a lot of looking through his eyelids :)  it was nice to just get out for awhile!

on sunday, nanny & vanpa headed down for lunch (so they say:)).  we ate and played with the little man all afternoon. 

evan even had a little tummy time on nanny’s lap!

sunday night, we attempted the bath again but this time, in the bath tub.  it went a little better but next time, we’ll put in more water!

 

on evan’s 3 week birthday, brian had to work late again so we had another lazy morning as a family.  during the day, evan and i ran to old navy and the bank (and might’ve stopped off at chick-fil-a for a peach milkshake:)).  that night, cc & grumps came over to hang out with the little man.  we thought we would get to see daddy before going to bed but his sim ran late and he couldn’t get home until 1am.  by then, evan and i were out – at least until evan’s next feeding at 2 ;)  we missed you daddy!!

week 2.

evan had a busy 2nd week!  it started with the newborn pics and softball game on tuesday night.  then he went up to katy to see vanpa inducted as president of his rotary club.  he was very well behaved but we didn’t get any pics of the night.  nanny & vanpa did so hopefully we’ll get ahold of some of those pictures to share.  he was quite a hit! 

on friday morning, uncle james flew in to meet evan.  we got up and around and picked up uncle james at the airport at 8:30.  when we got home, uncle james needed a nap so he and rylea took one on the couch while evan took one and let me take a shower. 

 

once everyone woke up, evan ate and then took a 3 hour nap on uncle james.  i think they both enjoyed that.  evan might have uncle james wrapped around his finger now!

that afternoon, nanny & vanpa came down to see james & evan and then brian’s family came over – even aunt ashley was in town - and we grilled fajitas for everyone…

 

nanny, vanpa, uncle james, & aunt baley spent friday night and on saturday morning, after evan’s morning feeding, vanpa took evan so that brian and i had a chance to catch a little extra sleep.  it was great!!  we had a late breakfast and then the katy crew headed home and we spent the day relaxing as a family.  have i mentioned how much i love having brian at home with us?!?! :) 

sunday, the katy crew headed back down for a father’s day lunch.  we decided to grill steaks and they were yummy!!  we hope everyone had a great father’s day!  brian had a somewhat mellow first father’s day since evan and i didn’t have a chance to get out to get him something but we will fix that soon ;)

 

on his 2 week birthday, evan spent the day with me and then we had more family time when daddy got home.  evan discovered sucking on daddy’s finger and also enjoyed some snuggle time on the couch with mummy & his puppies…

in the midst of all of this, evan got his first piece of mail – what a big boy!!!

tuesday morning, we took evan to get newborn pictures taken.  he was so good (minus the small accident problem when we took his diaper off for naked baby pics :)).  we were there for over 2 hours and he was fairly well behaved.  after pictures, we headed to perry’s market & grill in friendswood for lunch.  this was evan’s first restaurant outing and he did great – in other words, he slept!  we headed home and i took a nap.  the night before i had been up a little more than usual.  tuesday evening, it was nice out and there was a great breeze so i took the little man to watch his daddy’s softball game at JSC.

one week old.

evan turned one week old on monday.  we had a fun day at home and mrs. kim brought us dinner that night.  it was super!! thank you so much! 

i only managed to get pictures of him in his swing for some reason.

evan :: sunday.

looking at pictures, today must have been evan & rylea day.  rylea was all about snuggling with or sitting right next to evan all day long.  we’ve been moving fairly slowly each morning spending most of the morning in our pjs and finally getting around somewhere around noon. 

evan will usually play on his rainforest playmat while we eat breakfast & rylea felt the need to guard him this morning.
 
after we got around, we were all sitting on the couch and rylea became his boppy.

i saw this outfit in target and had to have it! isn’t he precious?!?!

we went over to grumps & cc’s house and sat outside for awhile -  evan loved the breeze.  then we went inside and ate dinner while evan was spoiled by everyone there (aunt barbie, marcie, & brittany cole were there as well!)
