evan’s new tricks.

apparently he doesn’t feel the need to learn the women of the family’s name!  has he said mama when referring to me yet?? absolutely not but he sure does know how to say vanpa & dada…hmmmmm :)

tubes.

after evan had gotten numerous ear infections in a short time {and before the really bad sick season had even started}, we took him to an ent who recommended he get tubes to help his ears drain.  evan had the surgery a week ago and has been perfectly fine since about 30 minutes after!!! 

we had to get there at 6am which meant getting the little guy in the car at 515.  i was hoping i would be able to do it without waking him up but no such luck.  he also couldn’t have food or drink after midnight which made me a little nervous because he always wakes up and downs an entire sippy of water.  luckily, he was a trooper and although he asked for his “dink,” he was a good sport about not getting it.  the staff was AMAZING and kept him entertained the entire time we were in pre-op.  when it was his turn to go back, they got him loaded into a car and took him back.  he never looked back which i was so incredibly grateful for!!!   20 minutes later, dr. ashe came out to let us know everything had gone great!  he had two more ear infections which we would have antibiotics for but other than that, we were good to go!!  i was so happy to see my little guy.  when we went back, he was sitting in a nurses lap, eyes closed, draining his sippy cup.  that’s my kid!!!  he was a little fussy for about 20 minutes but then was good to go and asking to eat on the way home – haha!! 

we played all morning, ate lunch, and then evan took a 4 hour nap.  unfortunately we could only sleep part of it so we were a little tired the rest of the day but at least he was happy!!

he was feeling so good, we took a walk to the neighborhood playground.  can you tell he had surgery that morning??

two weekends ago, evan spent saturday with nanny & vanpa in katy while we went to the aTm game.  here are some of the pics we received :)

on sunday, brian and i worked on avery’s room as well as got some other random”stuff” done so e spent the day with cc & went and visited aunt barbie & uncle mike.

thanks to our family for helping us out!!!  we were able to get a lot done!!!

uncle james is here.

my baby bro flew in last friday for his first visit since april.  we headed to my parent’s house saturday afternoon to spend some time with him.  since we never know how long it will be until we get to see james again, we decided to maximize our time in katy.   after eating and playing for a little bit, we headed to bed to get ready for a fun day on sunday.  evan decided to wake up around 615 sunday morning so it was an early one for sure!  after church, we ate and then evan and uncle james took a nap on the couch {nanny & vanpa have those pics}.  then we headed to dewberry farm where evan had a blast!  it’s so fun to have an uncle who will take you on all the rides no one else wants to {because they’re too painful!!} :)

it was super fun and there are so many things for little munchkins to do!!  we can’t wait for next year when e is a little bigger and can play on all the fun toys!!!

it was so great to see uncle james & we can’t wait to see him again – maybe next time he’ll bring his f18 with him :)

fun weekend.

we had a fun weekend of grandparents!! brian had to work in mission control basically all weekend so we had some serious grandparent time!!  evan spent saturday morning at cc’s house playing and then came home to play with nanny & vanpa.

mum & i worked on the bumpers for the little cradle my great-grandfather made and when we pulled it down out of the attic, evan’s bumbo was in it.  soooo, being the good mum i am, i left it out to see if he would try to get in it and sure enough….

jaxon also spent the night on saturday night so we all headed out to dinner at the swamp shack in kemah…   

sunday, we hung out with cc and played all day {including “oww side”:)}

i’ve really got to get better about getting the camera out!!  no one wants to see pics of my preggo self!!

halloween craft/playdate.

last thursday, we hosted a halloween craft/playdate and it was super fun!!!  we found a craft on a blog that uses footprints to make a ghost and thought it could be cute!!!  we had quite a few munchkins over at our house and that combined with yummy, sugary snacks and paint kept us on our toes.  thank goodness i have an amazing hubby who helped corral everyone!!
