gulf shores trip part I – NAS meridian.

evan went on his second big trip the day after we got back from the first.  after getting back from the river on wednesday, we got home, did laundry, repacked, and headed out for gulf shores on thursday.  we drove to slidell, louisiana on thursday and then on to meridian, mississippi on friday.  my baby bro is stationed at NAS meridian for flight training so we stopped in to see where he flies.  while on base, my cousin, joe, got to experience wearing a g suit.  the nice men also suited up my cousin, jackson, in their smallest gear.  we also got to go out to the runway and watch jets land.  it was pretty fun!

evan’s first trip to new braunfels.

we float the river every summer and look forward to it for months before - we can’t wait until evan is old enough to actually float!  this year, we brought my family from england with us.  my uncle bob had not ever floated and wanted to see what it was all about.  we had a blast even though evan and i did not float.  it’s just fun hanging out and relaxing for a few days!  evan made a couple of trips to naegelins bakery for breakfast.  he was upset he didn’t get to taste anything from there this year but i have no doubt he will next year! 

evan also made his first of many trips to gruene to eat at the grist mill.  he even got to see gruene hall!!

 








 

evan also got in the river for the first time! what a big boy!!

evan also went to meet miss mckenna.  one of my best friends, laura, had her little girl 3 days after he was born.  she is so precious!! i think he was smitten :)  she also succeeded in showing me just what a tanker my “little” boy is…

week 5.

the british are here!!!  actually just anna is for now and we’ve had a fun week :)

tuesday, evan and i headed to katy to pick up anna and then down to sugarland to eat lunch with nanny.  evan did great at panera bread and had fun snuggling with nanny.  back in league city, we waited for daddy to get home and then headed to san lorenzo’s for dinner. apparently we go there way too much – the hostess was so excited to see evan and couldn’t believe he was already 4 weeks old:)  he did amazingly well!!  2 restaurants in 1 day – i must be crazy!!

 

wednesday was evan’s official one month birthday!! yikes!!! we decided to take some “one month” pictures.  some were cute & some were – well, not so cute :)

 
for lunch on wednesday, we met some of the bible study girls at cafe express.  he got a little fussy towards the end of lunch but we made it through without a complete meltdown. evan hung out with mummy & the weimies for a little while…

daddy then took evan and it got quiet.  when i went to find out where the boys had gone, here’s what i found…

thursday, evan made another trip to the outlet mall to take anna.  he did really well…again…even though it was hot…again!  that night, we met up with the new braunfels river group (brian’s family has gone every summer with the same group to float the comal for a week.  next week is “the week”) at estebans (another restaurant!).  evan slept almost the entire time.  so far, we’ve been lucky!

friday, daddy only worked half a day so evan had a lazy morning with me and anna.  when daddy got home, anna & i went and got our “holiday” pedis.  you have to have cute toes on vacation :)  then, nanny & vanpa came to visit with aunt baley…

  

saturday, the rest of the british contingent flew over.  we headed up to nanny & vanpa’s house so that bobby, bob, & joe could meet evan…

 
 

sunday, everyone headed to our house.  we made a trip to the mall and target before heading out to outriggers for dinner…

apparently it takes teamwork to get the little man ready to go :)

monday morning, we headed to new braunfels with the england clan.  evan got his first taste of the river!  we stayed until wednesday and had a blast!! i will post separate pictures for our river trip and then another for our gulf shores trip…
