with avery around, i feel like i am missing out on documenting all of the funny “evan” things happening around our house so here some of them are…

• when someone sneezes, he will say “bless you _____” – including himself:) “bless you evan” haha!!
• if you cough or ask him if he’s ok, he will say “you ok _____?”  he kind of runs the “are you” part together so that it sounds like he’s just saying “you”.  i HAVE to get this on camera because it’s the cutest thing and makes me smile all the time. i actually try to make him say it at least once a day.
• cc taught him how to say “remember the alamo” but it comes out like “memember the malamo”
• if you hand him something, he will say “thank you ______”
• he tells the puppies “no addie” and “no rylea” as well as “go away” all the time.  guess we do that a lot :)
• if we get anywhere near where he takes swim lessons, he wants to go “simming”
• talks about “cc’s house”, “mommy’s house”, “vanpa’s house”, etc all the time.
• if someone is not wherever he is, he says they are at “work”
• always picks up the phone and say's “hi mike” even though he talks to numerous people on the phone.
• is starting his “mine” phase.
• will ask for a hug.
• know’s “mommy’s car” & “daddy’s truck”
• has said “gig em aggies” a few times.
• asks to “watch cars” or “watch thomas” – sad because he used to say “momas” instead of thomas and i never got it on camera.
• always wants to “pay tains” aka play trains.
• loves to go “outsi” and “wing” on his swingset.
• will count and does pretty well - “one two three four five (sometimes) six seven six seven…”
• can sing the ABCs sort of
• will ALWAYS ask for “nanother book” after we have read his two books before bed…and usually gets it:)
• remembers most of the names of family that he meets.
• asks for “help pease” when he can’t do something.
• says “down pease” when he is done eating.  that’s his version of “may i get down from the table please”
• knows his colors and the signs for a lot of them

i’m sure i have missed a ton so i will try to update the “evanisms” every so often!!

easter weekend.

saturday afternoon, my parents headed down to our house to watch the munchkins while we had a date night. bri and i had dinner at topwater grill and then some dessert at marble slab. after dinner, we headed home to get ready for easter. after visiting for a little while, we headed to bed.

the next morning, we had breakfast and somehow managed to get to church only a little bit late :) after church, we headed home to do the easter bunny thing.

& then it was outside to find all 65 eggs the easter bunny hid!

yes, we needed two “buckets” & yes, he found all 65!

& then it was inside to get their presents from nanny & vanpa…

 

they also got some really fun toys from cc & aunt barbie/uncle mike a few days before and i failed in picture taking:( evan got a talking thomas the train coal mountain track to go with his special trains from cc and a bug sprinkler from aunt barbie/uncle mike. avery got a couple of cute outfits from cc and a duck {not real thank goodness!!:)} from aunt barbie/uncle mike.  thank you to everyone for spoiling our cuties!!!

friday when daddy got home.

evan’s easter party goodie bags.

evan had an easter party at school last week and i was in charge of the goodie bags so this is what i came up with…

watch cars.

this is what evan says when he wants’ to watch something on tv - “watch _____.”  i had good friday off and when evan woke up from his nap, he was a little out of it. it usually takes him a little while to truly wake up and he was really whiney that day so i let him “watch cars.”  i made a little pallet on the floor and we just chilled there for a good hour.

4 months.

last thursday.  i’m so good at doing this on time :)

avery is changing so much, so quickly.  i know it hasn’t been that long since evan was in this stage, but i forget how quickly the changes come! i’m just not ready for my baby girl to get so big!!

height: 25 inches
weight: 16 lbs 3oz
{according to her doctor, she is the size of the average 7 month old – typical!}

avery is:

• still in size 2 diapers. we received a lot of these as gifts and while i could probably move her to a 3, these are still doing the job so 2’s it is!
• wearing  mainly 9 & 12 month clothes.
• taking 3-5 ounces at 7ish, 10ish, 1ish, 4ish, and 730ish. she usually also takes 4ish ounces between 3 and 5am {although this morning, we heard nothing from her until 520am!!}
• eating solids.  we started her a couple of weeks ago with just rice cereal at night. we then added sweet potatoes at night. this past weekend, we started cereal in the morning with applesauce.  i also had her try oatmeal last night but she really wasn’t a fan! i am making her baby food and so far, it has been super easy!!
• an exceptionally happy baby. she is ticklish around her rib cage and will laugh so hard when you tickle her. she also loves anytime she can see her brother. sweet girl just likes being in the middle of the action!
• now sleeping in her room and doing great! i am totally loving the video monitor!
• amazing at holding her head up and we can now officially carry her on our hip.
• grabbing at her toys and actually playing with them. we have to be careful though because EVERYTHING goes in her mouth!
• holds her head up well during tummy time but gets annoyed that she can’t actually get anywhere.

is so stinkin’ sweet & laid back! i can already see her personality coming through!!

we love you sweet girl & can’t believe you are already getting so big!!!

sweet (potato) baby.

sunday night, i made some sweet potatoes for avery to try. i am going to try to make her baby food but we will see how that goes. monday night was her first night to have them and to say she loved them might be an understatement. so far, it looks like avery is just like her brother and loves to eat. she ate two bowls of plain rice cereal a couple of nights in a row before. now she’s putting away the cereal and the sweet potatoes. sweet girl also gets very upset if a full spoon is not waiting for her when she finishes what she’s eating. trouble much! & what a mess when she is done. she insists on putting her hand in her mouth while eating as well which results in a huge mess! i had to take her outfit off the other night and she played in her diaper for a little while until bath time because she had made such a mess!
